There’s a lot of anxiety about this new AI enabled future, as well as probably a healthy amount of cynicism. Some are perhaps not buying into some of that hype that we’re all being exposed to. Removing stigma or removing bias is the same with nearly everything: exposure. By playing with it, by making it real, by moving from hype to lived experiences is the key. Anything to make it real, to make it pliable, to get our hands dirty with it, I think is the easiest way to form our own opinions. Figure out what it may mean for your business, for your employees and then go from there.
Start Small
I encourage folks to start small. There are some wonderful experiments and toys that can be done in a matter of hours or even days with some of these tools. Rather than look for the Big Bang and look for this brand-new technology to revolutionize everything, why not just make something small that’s either useful or amusing to start things off?
Find Humor
Humor is of great value here. Thinking back to some of our early experiences with smart speakers and Alexa, they are filled with Easter eggs. This is not just their development teams being funny. It is encouraging us to discover and have a playful attitude with it.
I think the future of integrated AI is already upon us. I don’t think there’s any going back. I think some of the hype will burn off and end its life as just hype, but the obvious and concrete practical applications are already here.
