New Financial Services Digital Product Drives Business Expansion

challenge

Shifting Consumer Expectations Requires a New Online Solution

This leading financial services provider specializing in money transfers had traditionally provided its services on a cash only basis through its walk-in retail storefront locations. However, shifting consumer demand and online offerings from competing institutions created the need for an online money-transfer service. A previous offshore provider that our client had been working with left them with an unfinished and untested product built on a .NET platform. The site needed to be completed, tested and readied for consumer launch in domestic and international markets to help expand their business.

solution

Developing a High Quality, Market-Ready Product

Our team quickly stepped in to help our client bring their online platform to the market. First, we conducted an assessment of the existing application and code and provided a roadmap for readying the site for an internal soft launch. After that, we completed the necessary enhancements and readied the site for the internal soft launch, allowing only internal employees to “pilot” the application for U.S. domestic checking account transfers only. Following a successful soft launch, our client then commissioned our team to develop further enhancements, including the activation of international money transfers from both checking account and debit card transactions, along with SMS messaging upgrades. For debit card transactions, our client selected a third-party credit card payment partner and we developed integrated calls between the two systems.

results

Better Customer Service and a Further Market Reach

Our client’s customers can now transfer money both domestically and internationally via their website with the option of providing either direct checking account information or a debit card based on the fully-integrated and fully-tested web application built by our team. Our client can now operate more competitively against other money transfer companies and with a further market reach than they’ve had before.
