Launching an International FinTech Solution for Transparency and Scalability

challenge

HEAVILY MANUAL PROCESS NEEDS SCALABILITY

Tus Giros is a Latin American FinTech organization that facilitates international money transfers using cryptocurrencies at both an affordable cost and in record time. Since their creation in 2019, they’ve delivered over 50,000 successful transactions, worth more than 2 million dollars.

Originally, their processes were all manual and managed via spreadsheets and WhatsApp communication, which was highly susceptible to human error and lack of transparency. Besides, it wasn’t scalable since it depended on a heavily-staffed operation. This led the executive team to look for a tech partner to create an automated, digital product that could provide clients with a self-managed process.

SIMPLIFYING A COMPLEX OPERATION WITH A DIGITAL PROCESS

We started working together with the goal of quickly automating the entire process behind the money transfer transaction and translating it into a back office app. We accomplished that first objective in under a month.

Later, we evolved the product by adding UX designers to the team in order to improve the user flows and make sure we were truly solving their clients’ needs. Tus Giros’ services are used by people of all ages and contexts, so we put a lot of focus on the UX to come up with a user-friendly design and straightforward flows, even in mobile, the main device used by their clients.

LAUNCHING A SOLID FINTECH PLATFORM IN RECORD TIME

The platform was built with Django and integrates with Mati, a software that verifies users’ personal information using biometric data and facial recognition. The system also provides the startup team with key metric reports that highlight business health using Power BI solutions. All of these improvements allowed Tus Giros to offer a much more trustworthy solution to customers and facilitate their staff work with accurate data.

Now, with the platform operating in different countries, we have adjusted its features and permissions according to each region. We are continuously working on details to make the users’ experience with the platform better. One of the latest improvements has been a calculator to simulate transactions, which helps the users know exactly how much they are going to pay in their own currency when sending money to a different country.
