Regulatory Compliance Gap Quickly Closed for Large Industrial Services Provider

challenge

Large Amount of Complex Employee Data Required Compliance Tracking Solution

Our client, a leading provider of industrial services worldwide, needed to fill a compliance gap with their HR payroll processing, as labor laws require our client to track their employees’ paid safe and sick leave accruals and usage. This becomes an incredibly complicated task as it needs to be tracked according to each jurisdiction, policy and mandated accrual percentage across federal, state, city and municipalities and printed on each employee’s check. Our client needed a partner who could take the massive amounts of data for its 15,000+ American employees and put it into a usable and efficient platform.

solution

On-Prem .NET Tracking Application

A stand-alone application engine was created in .NET that tracked rules-based safe and sick leave accrual according to hours worked and rules per policy and/or labor union contract. The platform was on-premise for ease of ongoing support by our client’s team and had a UI administration module for payroll, HR and legal departments for rule maintenance. All data captured through the engine is available for reporting by our client.

results

Compliant in Only Nine Months

What started as a request for a simple administration console became a much more thorough product, thanks to the talent of our team. Our work ensured our client became compliant in just nine months, which was no small feat due to the complexity of the laws and our client’s large amount of data. Our developers went above and beyond to develop features that made up a robust console that went even further than what our client envisioned.
