So far in 2023, there have been some exciting things that have been happening at Sparq. It’s been a big one for us!
First things first, we decided to give ourselves a fresh new look and changed our name and brand from Rural Sourcing to Sparq. We wanted a name that truly captured our energy, the innovative work we do and the incredible future of our company.
We also received an additional strategic investment from private equity firm, Harvest Partners Ascend. This investment is going to help us take Sparq to new heights and drive both organic and inorganic growth.
Now let’s talk about the immediate priorities in front of us. We’re embarking upon our next big expansion and strategic growth initiatives. We always strive to be at the forefront of our industry and the technological trends that drive growth and competitive advantage. Now is the time to be bold and nimble.
First, let’s talk about our investments in AI. We are investing in AI both for productivity gains for our clients with Generative AI and using industry specific AI tools available to help our clients become leaders in their industries. Our mid and senior software engineers are experiencing 20%-50% productivity gains within their projects, enabling our client teams to accomplish more in less time. We are leading our clients through the discovery and use-case investments to position them to launch new, differentiated products.
At Sparq, we’ve had incredible success as a leading provider of outsourced digital engineering. We specialize in building, deploying, and supporting digital applications, products, and experiences. Our clients love us because we not only deliver fantastic results for their businesses, but we also make sure they have an exceptional experience working with us. “Change the Experience” has always been one of our core values.
One of the main reasons we’re able to deliver such value to our clients is because of our unique team-based model led by our U.S. colleagues. Our teams have a deep understanding of U.S. culture, business context, and regulatory environment which allows us to collaborate with our clients in real-time. And here’s the best part: we’ve been able to do this in a cost-effective way by being the leader and pioneer in hiring colleagues in smaller to mid-size cities. This means a lower cost of living for our team members and a higher quality of life, and better value for our clients.
Now, let’s talk about the current economic market. We all know it’s challenging, and companies are constantly looking for ways to further lower their costs. That’s why we’re expanding our delivery capabilities to include a nearshore component. This means we can offer the same level of expertise and quality of service with blended onshore/nearshore teams. We still strongly believe in our U.S.-led, team-based approach because it ensures great outcomes and experiences for our clients. The addition of nearshore delivery simply gives us a more cost-effective option to offer to our clients.
We understand that some of our clients will still prefer to work with 100% onshore teams for certain types of projects, and that will continue to be an option. We’re committed to expanding our U.S. colleague presence and creating more IT career opportunities in places where they might not otherwise have existed. However, we’re also excited about growing our nearshore capability. It allows us to tap into new sources of talent and provide world class solutions combined with the cost advantages offered by nearshore delivery for our clients. It’s all about giving our clients the flexibility and options they need.
So, that’s what’s been happening at Sparq so far this year. We’re rebranding, securing strategic investments and expanding our delivery excellence from both a geographic and technological capability. It’s an exciting time for us and we are excited to help our clients build their digital futures.
