Albuquerque, NM – September 27, 2016 – Rural Sourcing, the leading provider of US-based IT outsourcing services, is excited to introduce its widely successful hackathon event to Albuquerque on September 30, 2016 at the Levitated Toy Factory from 12:00 – 5:00 pm.
Each team will be given four hours to create a project that has yet to be revealed. Following a presentation to a panel of judges, the first place winners of the event will receive a coveted paid internship at Rural Sourcing, which has been recognized as one of 100 top organizations selected for Computerworld’s 2016 Best Places to Work in IT. Food and drinks will be provided to all participants and prizes are awarded every hour throughout the day.
Unlike traditional hackathons where solutions to hypothetical situations are presented and solved, this event will involve working on a specific project for a local organization. This year’s hackathon is inspired by an old school theme and will feature at least eight teams of three to four local college students.
“We’re excited to bring this hackathon to Albuquerque and allow local students to showcase their skill sets,” said Margaux Kaynard, vice president of human resources at Rural Sourcing. “The community has really embraced this event which is sure to produce some amazing results.”
The panel of judges includes Jared Tarbell, Etsy co-founder, John Freisinger, president & CEO of Technology Ventures Corporation, and Shad Adair, actor and board member of Albuquerque Score and Talentura.
