A large shipping & logistics company was struggling with inefficient load planning and forecasting, with limited visibility to costs throughout the package delivery lifecycle. This operation encompassed billions in annual spend and thousands of packages delivered every minute. Existing planning processes involved dozens of localized planning tools, spreadsheets, phone calls and ad hoc coordination between planning specialists.

The company aimed to streamline its planning processes across their enterprise by implementing a system-wide integrated solution. The system needed to enable network modelers to optimize daily load planning and provide an 18-month rolling forecast.
